On the island of Oahu, for two months over the summer.
I would be staying with a friend of mines, paying for my own food (I don’t eat a lot, and I don’t care what I eat)
I wouldn’t be going to “attractions” over this time, and I’d mainly just walk everywhere.
I’d be paying for two tickets, one adult and one child. We will probably split the overall prices, so.. yeah. xD

Well, first, let me say how lucky you are to have a friend that will let you stay with them in Hawaii for 2 months, lucky you! Food is a bit more expensive in Hawaii than it is on the mainland, some things are a LOT more expensive, but just like when you are at home, you can watch the sales and eat for less that way. Easier to do if you are not picky about what you eat. Maybe add 20% to what you spend on food now to be safe? The Bus operates on the island of Oahu, and last I checked it was $2.00. That $2.00 will get you all the way around the island if you need it to, just ask for transfers when you get off. Probably a monthly pass is available.
Activities can be rather expensive, depending on what you want to do. Your friend may be able to get Kamaina rates on some things for you. The Arizona Memorial is free, as is laying on the beach and playing in the ocean. Boogie boards are inexpensive and will give you hours of entertainment if you like playing in the water.
Get yourself a small collapsible cooler, that way you can take water and snacks with you to the beach and when you head out during the day.
Enjoy your stay!
